The Thrones of the Gods
Zeus: His throne was polished black Egyptian marble decorated in gold. Leading up to his seat were seven steps, each colored a color of the rainbow. Above Zeus throne showed the sky. On the right arm of his throne held a ruby eyed golden eagle holding a jagged strip of pure tin. The eagle meant he could kill any of his enemies as he pleases. Covering his seat was a purple ram's fleece which he used in magical rainmaking. The qualities of Zeus are listed. Of course with all possible respect. Zeus is: Strong, brave, stupid, (of course with all respect) noisy, violent, conceited, and watchful.
Hera: Hera's throne was ivory. It had three crystal steps leading up to her seat. Golden cuckoos and willow leaves decorated the back. Hanging over her throne was a full moon. She sat on a white cow skin which she also used to make rain when Zeus was too stubborn to do it himself. Hera refused to be Zeus's wife for three hundred years every year. Her emblems are the cow, peacock, and the lion.
Poseidon: Poseidon's throne consisted of grey, green and white streaked marble. The throne was ornamented with coral, gold and the Mother Pearl. The arms of the throne were carved to form sea beasts. The Lord sat on Seal Skin.
Demeter: The Goddesses throne was bright green malachite. It was ornamented with the ears of barley in gold, and little golden pigs for luck. Her emblem is the poppy.
Hephaestus: Since he made all the thrones himself he made his the greatest. His throne could swivel and move anywhere he wanted to go. I believe this is where our swivel chairs today come from.
Athena: Her throne was silver. It had a golden basket. On the back and sides were crown of violets made from blue lapis lazuli. The arms were grinning Gorgons heads.
Aphrodite: Her throne was silver inlaid with beryls and aquamarines, that were black and shaped like a scallop shell. The seat was made of swan down.
